Thatsagoodpost Ngl This Will Never Not Be Funny

I'm moving this to my main because I hate how limited secondary blogs are.

Main name has been changed to little-princess-anmo so it's the same this one had before.

I have read several opinions about Yona's confession and the following kiss scene. So I thought I might as well make a post about my own take on it.

Personally I think that Hak is now aware of Yona's feelings. He might have some lingering doubts but I think they are finally on the same page. He has been presented with a healthy dose of evidence that Yona does, in fact, feels the same way. First, there is of course her confession. She said his name with it, so it is clearly directed at him. He heard it loud and clear and was even momentarily shocked before he had to move on to get out of the building. Secondly, there is her reaction upon seeing him. The girl literally burst into tears and was so happy she finally got to see him again. I think this moment took Hak almost even more off-guard than the confession. The latter can be brushed off as sleep-talk, but this cannot. Just look at his expression. He is shocked to the core.

I think Yona's reaction here combined with her mumbled confession earlier already made him realize she feels the same way. But then Yona went ahead and literally fed him water through the mouth, which, let's be real here, she would not do with her dragons, or any other person for that matter. There are other options for giving someone water even if there is no ladle. She literally went ahead and chose an option that put them in a very intimate position. Which, again, shocked Hak. Just look at his eyes yet again, the boy is shook.

By this point I think it fully clicked for him that Yona feels the same way. I'm also quite certain that no matter the situation, he would not kiss back like that, if he wasn't sure that Yona is okay with it. That is just not him no matter how much he missed her.

Long story short, I think he gets it now guys.

My last point is that even if it turns out he did not, in fact, realize Yona's feelings fully, it really does not matter in the grand scheme of things. An important point that Kusanagi emphasized in the previous chapter is that Yona deeply regretted not confessing to Hak earlier. She was also incredibly afraid she is going to die there and thus fully miss her chance of being honest with him about her feelings.

Which brings me to the obvious conclusion that the first thing Yona is going to do once things calm down is confess to him loud and clear. This seems to be further supported by the fact that she doesn't seem to realize she actually already mumbled out a confession that he heard clearly. So in her mind she hasn't said it yet.

TL;DR: I'm quite sure that Hak and Yona will officially get together in the next 1-3 chapters. There is no way this can be delayed even more, unless a new conflict suddenly prevents them from talking so that Yona can't confess properly or they are seperated yet again. But Kusanagi said this arc is pretty much over, so I don't see any confict happening for the next few chapters at least.

look im not saying Hak should be endangered again so soon but im saying that the only acceptable way for Soo won to show after a year of absence is to gallantly save a nearly-unconscious amid-enemies&blazes Hak and thats that on that

So it just occurred to me, in light of Gobi still lurking around and Hak being left behind SERIOUSLY INJURED in the castle momentarily AND the fact that Gobi probably witnessed that make out session, I'm thinking his thought process right now is somewhere along the lines of "Yona won't use the dragons powers to help herself, but MAYBE..."

Hi!

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past him? But there's the question of what can he do to Hak, of all people? He's left pinned against the wall by Hak's spear and terrorised by his threats; he's also alone and defenceless, and even if his henchmen came back I'd say priority numero uno is to get the f*ck out of the toasty fire, so my guess is that he can't really scheme anything dragon related at this point. I think if he's going to cause any more damage it would be pushing Hak into the fire in order to escape, or some other antic that'll max our frustration even more, but the situation is pretty dire for him to be thinking what strings to pull to specifically get the dragons to react a certain way.

I suspect we might still get some Hak in a burning building angst in the next chapter, though. Maybe the roof falls down?! Maybe Gobi does try something shady?! Maybe this is where Gobi spills all the religious secrets we've been wanting to know and finally brings some value to the narrative?! It's a weird note to leave the chapter on so it seems likely that there'll be trouble in some form.

(Also, I've seen a theory floating around tumblr that this'll be where Su-Won finally appears and saves Hak from the burning building. I'm not-so-secretly actually rooting for that to happen.)

I would so want that to happen. Su-won has been absent for so many chapters and I need interaction with him and Hak. but I don't want to get my hopes up… So I don't think that scenario is very likely…. Still it's a beautiful dream *cries*

Gobi just do everyone a favor and die already

What was that about Hak letting him live out of respect for Algira and Vold?

Aaah Hak I know you're a good guy buuuut

He just needs someone to chop his head off

I really like Kusanagi's way of handling her characters. They're so round and interesting and she has excelled at their character development.

Yona is such a great female lead and I love hearing about her inner thoughts- the conclusions she came to when finally learning about the world and the people of Kouka, what she thinks of Soo-won now that she looks at things from a more objective viewpoint. She has grown so much and it was really rewarding to watch her go from this fragile princess to this strong and determined young woman.

I was so happy when we got to see some development on Hak's part too. It's heart wrenching to see how much that betrayal hurt him and how he struggles to control his anger. He never really confronted his feelings so it's good to see him move into a better direction.

Also the HakYona development. Do I have to say anything? I was rather impartial to their relationship when I first started the series ages ago but THIS IS SO GOOD. Kusanagi really outdid herself with how complex and loving their relationship is.

Soo-won is probably my favorite antagonist and I absolutely love interactions between him and the other two. There's so much about his motives that we know nothing about yet and I'm looking forward to more revelations.

I like how nothing in Akayona is only black and white. No one is really purely evil: Everyone has their motivation and it makes you really think about what drives them.

The way the happy hungry bunch grew to a close family is also so heartwarming. I absolutely love their interactions and responsible big bro jae-ha looking out for everyone even if Zeno is so much older than him
